1. Agreement to terms
By registering for, accessing, or using Rundeck ("the Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of Rundeck, including business owners ("Account Owners"), invited managers, and staff members ("Users") who access the platform under an Account Owner's subscription.
2. Description of services
Rundeck is a cloud-based workforce and operations management platform designed for shift-based Australian businesses. The Service consists of two optional modules:
- Team Management — includes rostering, clock-in/out, timesheets, payroll export, digital onboarding, staff messaging, and leave management.
- Ops — includes daily open/close checklists, store photo submissions, cash counts, stock takes, incident logs, maintenance logs, and task management.
You may subscribe to one or both modules. Features may be updated, added, or removed at our discretion — see clause 12 for how we handle material changes.
3. Accounts & access
To use Rundeck, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring any staff or managers you invite use the Service in accordance with these Terms
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
You must not share your account credentials, create multiple accounts for the same business, or use the Service to provide access to parties not associated with your business without our prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are inactive for more than 12 months, or are associated with fraudulent or unlawful activity.
4. Subscriptions & billing
Rundeck operates on a monthly subscription model. Current pricing is:
- Team Management: $60/month (flat rate, unlimited staff, unlimited locations)
- Ops: $30/month (flat rate, unlimited staff, unlimited locations)
- Both modules: $81/month (10% bundle discount applied automatically)
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are exclusive of GST. GST (10%) will be added to invoices where applicable.
Payment is processed by Stripe. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge your nominated payment method on each billing cycle. If payment fails, we will attempt to retry and will notify you. Continued non-payment may result in suspension of your account.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing with at least 30 days written notice to account holders. Price changes will not apply until the next billing cycle after the notice period expires.
5. Free trial
New accounts receive access to Rundeck's full feature set on a free trial basis. No credit card is required to start your trial. The trial allows you to explore all features before committing to a subscription.
At the end of the trial period, you may choose to subscribe to one or both modules. If you do not subscribe, access to certain features will be restricted, but your account and data will be retained.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial offering at any time without notice.
6. Cancellation & termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain full access until then and will not be charged again.
We do not offer refunds for partially used billing periods, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
Upon cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted. You may export your data at any time before deletion. See our Privacy Policy for full retention details.
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or unlawful activity, or if we are required to do so by law. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use Rundeck only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation, including the Privacy Act 1988, Fair Work Act 2009, or Spam Act 2003
- Upload, store, or transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or offensive
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or another user's account
- Use the Service to store or process personal information beyond what is reasonably required for your business operations
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service without our written consent
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the Service
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
Violation of this clause may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement authorities.
8. Your data & content
You retain full ownership of all data you upload to or generate within Rundeck ("Customer Data"), including staff records, operational data, and submitted content.
By using Rundeck, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your Customer Data solely as necessary to operate and improve the Service. We will not use your Customer Data for any purpose outside the scope of providing the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal authority to collect and store any personal information about your staff within the platform, and that you comply with your obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 and applicable employment law.
We strongly recommend exporting your data regularly. We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from your failure to maintain backups.
9. Intellectual property
All intellectual property in the Rundeck platform — including but not limited to software, design, trademarks, and content produced by Rundeck — is and remains the property of Abide Media Group. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for the duration of your subscription, solely for your internal business purposes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rundeck's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We will not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill
- Loss resulting from service interruptions, downtime, or data loss
- Loss caused by third-party services we integrate with (e.g. Stripe, Supabase)
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned maintenance where possible.
12. Changes to services or terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes (e.g. pricing, data handling, or significant feature removals), we will provide at least 30 days written notice via email. For minor or clarifying updates, we will update the "Last updated" date and may notify you in-app.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with material changes, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, unless otherwise required by law.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
